Your visit to France is a great opportunity to stock up with fine wine, but if you don't want to be carrying it around in the car, our vineyards will ship your wine to Calais so you can pick it up on the way home. Or if you want to buy more wine than you can comfortably fit in with all the luggage, ship it to Calais and collect it later with a cheap day return from just £15. See order from home. |
If you want to visit some of the 110 vineyards on our lists, taste and buy direct, then the Routes and itineraries in our member's Premier Pages section give an easy to follow summary plus comprehensive tourist and historic information about towns and places of interest to help you plan any breaks or stop-overs. Planning your wine route in advance will save you both time and money. Distances on a map can be deceptive if you are not accustomed to driving in France and careful choice of your arrival port can have a significant effect on the time it will take to reach a destination in the wine regions. Go to our Entry Ports page for help.
Parking on your wine route
Look out for 'Zone Blue' parking schemes which apply in many tourist towns and cities. The scheme allows you to park in zoned areas for a limited period (which can vary from town-to-town). Zone Blue parking discs can be obtained from the local Office de Tourisme where you will advised of any limitations of use. There may be a small charge.
NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE You don't need to swallow wine to taste it, so you can taste and still be safe on the road |
