Louis XII 1462 - 1515.

Before becoming king, Louis had married Jeanne of France, the daughter of Louis XI. But his succession was on condition that he married the widow of Charles VIII in order to keep the Duchy of Brittany tied to the throne. He agreed to the terms of succession and repudiated his marriage to Jeanne.

He was not the strongest of Kings. Although taking part in the Italian wars, he lost all he had gained in the early days of his reign.
