King of France 1483 - 1498. Son of Charles VII succeeding his father to the throne.

In 1491, he married Anne of Brittany at Langeais, thereby gaining the vital region of Brittany for the French Crown. Attacked Naples and after taking the city without resistance, he left enamoured by Italian architecture and garden planning. He returned to France but before setting foot on French soil, all his gains were lost to the Italians, Gonsalvo de Cordova re-annexing the land back to Spain. His son, the Dauphin, was killed during the fighting.
