Charles VI 1368 - 1422.

King of France 1380 - 1422. Son of Charles V and Jeanne de Bourbon.

Known as ‘Charles the Silly', his reign was a complete fiasco having taken control of government and going insane after four years. The kingdom was torn apart by rival factions of Burgundians and Armagnacs and then to finish off his reign in 1415, Henry V of England crossed the channel landing at Harfleur. He took Normandy by storm and after his famous victory at Agincourt, compelled Charles to acknowledge him as his successor to the French throne.
