King of France 1270 - 1285. Known as ‘The Bold’. Son of Louis IX (St Louis).The crown continued to flourish under Philippe III as under his father. He re-united the Comte of Toulouse to the crown in 1271 and fought against Pierre III of Aragon, Spain, attempting to take control of Catalonia but without success.
